Public awareness of and engagement with COP26, due to take place in Glasgow, is crucial; both to put pressure on politicians to make ambitious decisions, and to engage more people with the global climate crisis.

This webinar, based on recently completed research, explores how to communicate about COP26 in a way that resonates across a broader base of society, rather than just appealing to ‘the usual suspects’.

Designed for UK based climate advocates and campaigners, the webinar will present the research itself and then focus on its implications for campaign communications with different audiences.

The research presented in this webinar focused in particular on the segments known as Civic Pragmatists and Loyal Nationals (as defined by the Britain Talks Climate audience segmentation), and their engagement with different messages about COP26.

The webinar will take place on 30 September at 10-11am BST. The speakers include:

  • Dr Susie Wang, Climate Outreach: COP26: new insights into what the public want from the summit
  • Robin Webster, Climate Outreach: COP26, Civic Pragmatists and Loyal Nationals: insights for campaigners and advocates
  • Ben Margolis, the Climate Coalition: The importance of broad and effective engagement ahead of COP26

There will be a Q&A session at the end of the event.

The Britain Talks Climate segmentation comes from a collaboration between Climate Outreach, More in Common, the European Climate Foundation (ECF) and YouGov. Britain Talks Climate followed the release of More in Common’s Britain’s Choice report.
